Went Crazy With “Tujuh Belasan”!

August was always a special month for us Indonesians when the festive aura of Independence Day celebration blasts through the whole month.
This year, starting from spontaneous chit-chat ideas, we managed to organize the traditional event of various races to celebrate our Independence Day. The race theme was “Rama-rame Tujuhbelasan” or “Went Crazy on the Seventeenth”. Although it was not exactly performed on the August 17th but we all know the spirit and anticipation was equally high.
Derived by a strong will, self-sponsored and spontaneous committee, these August traditional races was successfully performed…and it was BLAST!
We got 7 races category: the ‘krupuk’ (rice cracker) eating race, marble run race, put pencil in a bottle race, tug-a-war race, dance with balloon race, eat chilly-fried race and Independence costume contest. And for the record, these are the winners of the race:
1. KRUPUK EATING RACE:

2. MARBLE RUN RACE:

THE BOTTLE RACE:

4. TUG-A-WAR RACE:
Single Champion:
Division Team.
5. DANCING WITH BALLOON RACE:

#2: Catur Taryatno & Wijaya – Finance & Admin Division;
#3: Erna Wijayanti & Septiana Yemima S. – Finance & Admin Division.
6. CHILLY FRIED EATING RACE:
#1: Andri Yosana – QHSE;
#2: Susana – Commmercial Division;
#3: Septiana Yemima S. – Finance & Admin Division.
7. INDEPENDENCE COSTUME CONTEST:
Single Champion: Ratun – Finance & Admin Division.
The event was far from perfect but it was a melting pot of emotions to see the enthusiasm of the participants, the yelling from supporters and the joy of the winners. Even our BODs, Mr. Herman Karmana and Mr. Hari Takariyadi was enjoying the game.
So, let’s do it again better next year, shall we?
